Advanced nuclear fuel cycles in the personnel training for Vietnam

On the 30th of January 2017, at the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”, the first graduates from the group AES2-S11, trained under the project on the personnel training for the nuclear industry of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, defended their theses. One of the students Mr. Vu Hoang Hai undertook a graduate study in the International Center for NPP Personnel Training (ICT) of ROSATOM-CICE&T supervides by Dr.(Nuclear Engineering), Prof. Vladimir Artisiuk in the group led by Mr. Anton Diachenko.

Currently the group analyzes a possibility of formation of the nuclear fuel cycle with an increased protection against unauthorized proliferation of nuclear fissile material on the basis of the REMIX fuel and Mr. Vu Hoang Hai was directly involved in the work. The close contact with the researchers and involvement in their work allowed Mr. Vu Hoang Hai to acquire knowledge in the field of advanced nuclear fuel cycles, fuel fabrication and spent nuclear fuel reprocessing technologies, neutronic simulations and safety analysis of the nuclear power facilities, as well as specifics of interaction between the customer and the supplier of nuclear technologies. Mr.Vu Hoang Hai successfully accomplished his graduate thesis in the limited time due to the competences and experience, gained by the ICT staff, in carrying out research works under the government contracts on the development of the advanced nuclear fuel cycles.

The close cooperation with leading research institutions and industry organizations, as well as a special software, formed in the ICT, allowed to determine a relevant task, which Mr. Vu Hoang Hai successfully solved using the modern software recognized by the international scientific community.

Personnel of the International Center congratulates Mr. Vu Hoang Hai with the successful completion of studying, defense of the graduate thesis with an excellent records  and awarding the  qualification of engineer-physicist.
