The Interregional Training Course started on November, 06 at the IAEA HQ in Vienna. This is fifth event in the series of six events being organized in 2017 in the framework of Agreement between State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” and the IAEA concerning extra budgetary contribution to the implementation of the Technical Cooperation Projects on Nuclear Infrastructure Development.
The purpose of this training course is to demonstrate the importance of human resource development (HRD) and workforce planning as it relates to the establishment of new or expanding nuclear power programmes, and to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and practical experience essential for developing an HRD country plan.
The participants of the course are representatives from organizations from the countries embarking on nuclear power programmes: Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Thailand and Tunisia.
During one week training course, experts of the IAEA and SC Rosatom will present relevant guidance and provide case studies based on IT system OCTOPUS of good practices related to the establishment of HRD and workforce planning as part of a nuclear infrastructure.
