On the 22nd of October 2010 “Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training” (Obninsk) was visited by the delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Le Dinh Tien. The Vietnamese side has shared plans to create the Vietnam Center for Nuclear Science and Technology which aims not only to support the development of nuclear energy but also the introduction of nuclear technology to non-energy industries and medicine. The visit to Obninsk was governed by the fact that this science city offered a wide range of activities associated with the creation of the Centre – from general questions of nuclear education to training of specialized teams of scientists for specific scientific objectives. In “Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training” Vietnamese colleagues were presented courses on preparation of tender documentation, site selection and specification, brachytherapy and safety of research reactors, developed in cooperation with the brunches of this industry and association of brachytherapists of Russia.
