Experts from Bangladesh are Undertaking Fellowship on Public Communication and Stakeholder Involvement at Rosatom Tech

Starting from June 17 Rosatom Technical Academy provides fellowship training on Public
Сommunication and Stakeholder Involvement for specialists from Bangladesh Atomic
Energy Commission.
The training is conducted following a request of the International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA) in the framework of the Technical Cooperation Programme. The training programme
allows participants to familiarize with Russian best practices in the field of Public
Сommunication, involves practical exercises and promotes experience sharing. Participants
will visit the Nuclear Information Center (NIC) and other nuclear industry’s organizations in
the framework of technical tours.
Public communication is an integral part of the nuclear power programme, especially in the
newcomer counties. Therefore, the training programme covers such sensitive issues as how
to inform the public, how to interact with specialists and people, ensuring that their opinions
are taken into account, how to popularize mutually beneficial and safe decisions in the
construction of NPPs and other issues.
Participants are currently exploring the experience of nuclear information centres. The work
of NIC is aimed at popularizing science, nuclear energy and its prospects, informing the
public about the industry and increasing the prestige of careers in nuclear industry.
Specialists from Bangladesh are involved in multimedia programmes and technical creativity
training. Especially for this training Ms Alexandra Chistyakova, chief specialist of the
strategy management of ASE EC JSC delivered a lecture on the concept of public reporting
in the context of public acceptance.
