New IAEA fellowship programme “Cooling system for NPP with WWER” started in ROSATOM-CICE&T.

New IAEA fellowship programme “Cooling system for NPP with WWER” started in ROSATOM-CICE&T.

In accordance with practical arrangements signed at the 55th session of the IAEA GA in September 2011 between the IAEA, JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” and ROSATOM-CICE&T and following the Joint work plan of bilateral cooperation of the Russian Federation and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to establish and improve the national infrastructure, 3 months fellowship programme Cooling system for NPP with WWER” started in ROSATOM-CICE&T on 05 October 2015.

This programme is aimed to learn the features of WWER normal operation cooling systems, WWER passive core cooling system operability, to identify the usage of computer code for thermal- hydraulic modeling and to describe the modeling process with particular computer codes.

The IAEA fellow Mr. Ahmad Al-Adhileh graduated from Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute, so he has enough academic background to accept specifics of computer codes involved in modeling process of WWER cooling systems. He has an excellent Russian language background that gives him a unique opportunity to discuss with Russian experts the specifics of Russian computer codes “from the first hands”.

This fellowship opens practical cooperation in human resource development for Jordanian nuclear power programme. This was preceded by the workshop organized for the representatives of Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organizations (NEPIO) oriented to WWER Technology on 01-05 December, 2014 (http://rosatomtech.com/?p=1385) and by training for the IAEA fellows on «WWER design and severe accident analysis, site selection and qualification, human resource development modeling, the concept of the national plan for the development of power grid» on 6 April, 2015 (http://rosatomtech.com/?p=1611).
