From 1 to 5 October within the framework of the SAEC «Rosatom» Target Programme of Human Resources Capacity Building for recruitment by international organizations (IAEA and OECD NEA), a Practical Training Workshop was held in the Moscow branch of Rosatom Technical Academy for the members of the pool of experts from SAEC «Rosatom» enterprises.
The Target Programme was launched in 2016 in order to create a mechanism for selecting and training employees of SAEC «Rosatom» and its enterprises to work in international organizations in the field of nuclear energy, as well as to form a pool of experts – candidates for vacant positions in these organizations. Under this Programme the Practical Training Workshop is being held for the third consecutive year with the aim to educate experts on the procedures for participation in the competition for vacant positions in the IAEA Secretariat and the Agency for Nuclear Energy of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD Nuclear Energy Agency).
In 2018, along with representatives of the IAEA, hiring specialists from the OECD NEA participated in the Practical Training Workshop, including Deputy Director General for Management and Planning Mr Nobuhiro MUROYA, Head of HRM Client Service Group Ms Carmen DE LOS RIOS and Head of the Nuclear Science Division Ms Tatiana IVANOVA.
During the training, participants were given lectures on the structure and tasks of the IAEA and the OECD NEA, explained all stages of selection for a position in an international organization, demonstrated the process of applying for a vacancy, and also conducted an individual mock-up interview with each of the participants, simulating a panel interview at the final stage of the candidate selection for a vacancy in the IAEA and/or the OECD NEA.
Ms Kate ROJKOV, Director of Human Resources Division of Management Department of IAEA, and Mr Nikolay SPASSKY, Deputy Director General of SAEC «Rosatom», took part in summing up at closing of the Practical Training Workshop.
