The scientific visit on the quality management during NPP construction is completed on June, 8 at the St. Petersburg branch of the Rosatom Technical Academy (Rosatom Tech). This scientific visit was delivered for the audience of the first group of specialists from Bangladesh, trained under the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme.
The specialists of this group, which included the engineers of various qualifications from the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), attended a two-week course on the implementation of supervision during the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of nuclear power facilities.
The programme covered the following issues:
- Goals and objectives of supervision at the facilities using nuclear power. Legal and regulatory framework of construction quality control and its place in ensuring the safety and quality of work.
- The main directions of supervision and control at all stages of construction, reconstruction and overhaul of the facilities using nuclear power.
- Methods of quality control during construction, reconstruction and overhaul of the facilities using nuclear power.
- Documentation of the construction quality control procedures.
- Safety culture issues.
Lectures and practical classes on the direction were conducted by PhD in Engineering sciences, Assoc. Prof. Mikhail Ivanov.
As a result of attestation, trainee performance was assessed as high-over 86% of correct answers.
Also, specialists of the second group from Bangladesh under the program “Project Management during NPP Construction” continue their training, which will last until June 22.
