On 28-29 November, 2016 the ROSATOM-CICE&T provided pilot training in Helsinki for the personnel of the Fennovoima Oy on the Basic Plant Course, Part 1 that focused at the basic principles of NPP operation. The course covers the large area of technical disciplines from fundamentals of nuclear and reactor physics through generals of the VVER design to the specific designs features of the future NPP Hanhikivi-1. The Part 1 of the Basic Plant course was designed as an introduction to NPP technology that will be later followed by the Part 2 that focuses the Plant systems for the Fennovoima Oy engineering personnel that is scheduled for the next year. The lectures were delivered by experts of the ROSATOM-CICE&T and ATOMPROJECT – the architect-engineer of the Hanhikivi-1 thus giving the chance for the Finnish managers and specialists to receive the information about architect solutions and specifics of the Hanhikivi NPP from the first hands. This also gives a good opportunity to make a working contacts between specialists of the both Russian and Finnish side to facilitate the process of cooperation during the pre-construction and further stages of the NPP project. The trainees took the written test and were awarded with the certificates of completion jointly issued by ROSATOM-CICE&T and JSC “Rusatom Service” that plays the role of an integrator of State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” services including the training services for international customers. The lessons learned and feedback received during the pilot course will be used to improve the training materials in compliance with Systematic Approach to Training.
