Delegation from Tokyo Institute of Technology visited ROSATOM-CICE&T to discuss the topical issues of mutual cooperation.

19th November delegation from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) visited ROSATOM-CICE&T for one-day meeting to discuss the topical issues of mutual cooperation.

The Head of the delegation Prof. Masaki Saito is the Leader of the Academy for Global Nuclear Safety and Security Agent which runs a special MSc and PhD programs in Tokyo Tech focusing on safety, security and safeguard issues of nuclear power development. The graduates of these programs are expected to find career path in international organizations, such as in the IAEA.

The specific of the program is that PhD students should have practice of visiting organizations outside of Japan to build up the skills of cross-cultural communications. One of the mechanisms is to have an international reviewer of their progress in PhD program starting from the first year of the PhD course.

Prof. V. Artisyuk was asked by Tokyo Tech side to review the research progress of Mr. T. Aoki who is the first year PhD student at the Academy for Global Nuclear Security Agent. The information presented by Mr. T. Aoki illustrated growing interest of Japanese society to nuclear security. Cooperation in this field is beneficial for both Tokyo Tech and ROSATOM-CICE&T.
