The first cooperative IAEA-Russia Nuclear Security School was held in the Russian language

From 21 to 25 September the Technical Academy of Rosatom and the International Atomic Energy Agency conducted the first theoretical session of the International School on Nuclear Security in the form of a video conference. The second, practical, session is scheduled in 2021.

The School was attended by 25 participants from 9 countries. The speakers at the School were specialists from the IAEA, State Atomiс Energy Corporation Rosatom, Rostekhnadzor, Federal Customs Service, Federal Centre for Science and High Technologies “SNPO Eleron”, Nuclear Regulatory Agency of Bulgaria, and Rosatom Technical Academy. The IAEA nuclear security school was held in the Russian language for the first time.

At this session of the International School, participants discussed and perceived the elements of the national nuclear security regime as well as their role for effective security of radioactive materials. The participants are keen to apply the gained useful knowledge in practice.
