Delegation of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” visited Jordan to participate in the First Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Nuclear Infrastructure (JWGNI) held in Jordan Atomic Energy Commission on February 9-10, 2015. The major objectives of the meeting were to identify possible topics and areas of activities in developing nuclear infrastructure in Jordan in accordance with the IAEA Milestone Approach and bilateral agreements related to NPP construction in Jordan. The team of Russian experts was formed by representatives of Rosatom headquarter, JSC “Rosenergoatom”, JSC “Rusatom Overseas”, JSC “TVEL”, JSC VNIIAES and Rosatom Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training. The format of the meeting was defined by President of Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Khaled Toukan and head of the Russian Delegation Mr. Yury Bussurin. Participants of the meeting were divided in four working group (Fuel cycle & Waste management, Human Resources Development (HRD), Licensing, safety, Environmental Protection and Emergency Planning, Legislation & Regulatory Framework, Safeguards & Security) to identify topical issues of cooperation and elaborate the action plan for coming years.
