On November 13-24 the Rosatom Technical Academy conducts the IAEA two-weeks regional course on environmental remediation of areas with uranium legacy. The course is held in the framework of the IAEA TC Regional Project “Supporting Human Resource Capacity Building for Developing and Implementing Integrated Programmes for Remediation of the Areas Affected by Uranium Mining”, 2016-2019 (hereinafter – the Project).
The first and the second training course of the Project were carried out in 2016 and were devoted to the topic of interaction with and involvement of interested parties in the environmental remediation projects.
The theme of the course in 2017 includes the topics of environmental projects’ planning and management. The participants of the course in 2017 are 13 specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The training course is aimed at building competencies for management of projects on recultivation of former uranium production. The funding for regional training course is carried out by the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM.
