On 24th of July at the Rosatom Technical Academy (Rosatom Tech) started the training course on Human Resource Development Modeling for Nuclear Infrastructure in Newcomer Countries. Participants of the course were the heads of departments of the Nigerian atomic energy Commission.
The training process is based on the programme describing the milestone approach and recommendations of the IAEA in Human Resource Development (HRD) for implementation of the national nuclear power programme comprising the concept of the national country plan of personnel training and suggestions on the use of the Russian experience in HRD.
The training course combines theory with case studies. The participants performed exercises, including development of training plans for nuclear infrastructure key organizations. To carry out the exercises the participants used Microsoft Project software, designed to manage projects, allocate resources to tasks, monitor progress and analyze the status of work.
Participants are expected to improve their competencies in the personnel training for the nuclear infrastructure and they will be able to competently apply the knowledge gained in the planning of the personnel policy, taking into account the national nuclear power programme specifics in their country.
Lectures and practical classes were conducted by the Director of the International Center for Personnel Training Fedor Karmanov.
Duration of the training course was 4 days.
