The Ural Federal University and ROSATOM-CICE&T signed a cooperation agreement

On June 28th, 2017 delegation from ROSATOM-CICE&T headed by the rector Dr. Iurii Seleznev visited Yekaterinburg to participate in the IAEA International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles (FR17) and to meet with administration of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) to discuss cooperation in the field of training to support  expansion of Russian nuclear technologies. As a result of the meeting, the rector of ROSATOM-CICE&T and the rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov signed a Memorandum of Understanding  that focuses the synergy of the parties in the training of operating personnel for nuclear power plants abroad and exporting nuclear education through the implementation of joint educational programmes, including GenIV reactors development.

The delegation of ROSATOM-CICE&T took part in the Youth Scientific Seminar organized by the Nuclear Society of Russia in UrFU, where Dr. Seleznev stressed the importance of cooperation with the Ural Federal University – the carrier of unique competencies in training Fast Reactors’ operating personnel and development fast reactor fuel cycles.

Director of the UrFU’s Institute of Physics and Technology (IPhT) Prof. Vladimir Rychkov presented the Institute’s nuclear facilities of the “Cyclotron Nuclear Medicine Center” producing radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the GMP and the “Innovation Center for Radiation Sterilization”, which is going to hold the IAEA Regional Training Course on Dosimetry at Electron Beam Facilities later this September. Both centres are located on the premises of the Department of Experimental Physics headed by Prof. Vladimir Ivanov.

ROSATOM-CICE&T participated in the following sections of the IAEA International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles (FR17): Section “Fuel Cycle Analysis” – report “Analysis of the SVBR-100 Nuclear Fuel Cycle by Means of the Advanced Nuclear Fuel Cycle Assessment Methodology (ATTR)” (A. Diachenko, V. Artisiuk, M. Fedorov, G. Tikhomirov), Section “Liquid metal technologies” – report “Mass Transfer Simulation Model for Justification Sodium Purification System Characteristics” (E. Varseev, Yu. Korniyenko), Section “Professional Development and Knowledge Management”, which was held under the chairmanship of  Dr. T. Ivanova (OECD / NEA) and Prof. V. Artisiuk (ROSATOM-CICE&T).
