Within the framework of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, the Rosatom Technical Academy has organized training for the personnel of the Tianwan NPP (Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation – JNPC).
The opening ceremony of the training course was attended by the heads of JNPC, Rosatom Technical Academy representatives and Chinese experts. In his welcoming address, rector Yurii Seleznev spoke about the current tasks and plans which the Academy faces and the industry in general.
In his address to the audience, the Chairman of the Corporation Mr. Ma Mingze thanked the experts of the Technical Academy, JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” and JSC “Rosatom Service” for the preparation of the educational process and recalled the relevance of Obninsk for the global nuclear power:

An open lecture on the development of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and Concern Rosenergoatom for the audience members and the direction of JNPC in the course “Administrative Issues of NPP Operation” was given by the First Vice-Chancellor – the Director of the Department of Basic Activities of the RTA Vladimir Aspidov.
According to the Project Director Denis Podolyakin, within the framework of the six-month course, Chinese students will take theoretical and practical training courses in the Russian language. The main focus is supposed to be on the development of core competencies for the operation of the VVER-1200 unit, the study of industrial and commercial legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy. The classes will be given by practical specialists with extensive experience at NPP. The theoretical part of the course started at the Obninsk center of the Technical Academy on July 1 and will last until September 21. The second stage of training will begin at the TAR training center in St. Petersburg and Sosnovy Bor (Leningrad NPP) and will end on December 15 with a practical exam with the demonstration of the achieved results.
Young specialists of the Tianwan NPP admitted that they had never been to St. Petersburg and they were looking forward to getting acquainted with the history of the great city. In their opinion, training at the Technical Academy provides an opportunity to communicate with the hospitable Russian people, which contribute to the Chinese-Russian cultural exchange and the development of extensive cooperation. At the end of the meeting, to the applause of the audience, an audience member He Jianjun received a book of fairy tales by Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Chinese as a birthday gift.
