Training course “The safety issues of VVER-type reactors with nuclear fuel based on reprocessed uranium”

The training course “The safety issues of VVER-type reactors with nuclear fuel based on reprocessed uranium” was organized by ROSATOM-CICE&T on June 27 – July 1, 2016. This training course is a part of a series of special training courses on nuclear fuel technology based on years of experience of fabrication Russian and Western design RepU nuclear fuel through the joint contracts between JSC “MSZ” and Areva NP to supply RepU nuclear fuel at NPPs in Western Europe, with a focus on safety assessment using computer code MCU (Russia). Besides gaining competences in the use of the computer code for nuclear reactor operation safety analysis the trainees from Slovakia, Italy, Romania and Czech Republic will receive a vast theoretical knowledge in the field of practical application of nuclear fuel based on RepU in thermal reactors of Russian and Western designs. The course is organized in cooperation with the National Research Centre “Kurchatov Institute” – scientific supervisor of VVER technology and the developer of MCU computer code.
