The training is conducted in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 17.06.2015 in Jakarta between ROSATOM-CICE&T and BATAN Training Center. The course is developed for newcomer countries interested in the assessment of the implementation of advanced pressurized water reactors, including small reactors which are expected to get involved in local energy systems for energy supply in remote areas and are of special interest for the Republic of Indonesia.
Within 5 days the delegates will be introduced with the experience gained in the Russian Federation in the use of small and medium reactors, including those used for nuclear marine propulsion developed by JSC “Afrikantov OKBM” and their implementation in the project of the first floating nuclear power plant. Participants will also visit three companies: FSUE SRI SIA “LUCH” (Podolsk) where they will undergo a course of lectures on new generation cermet fuel for small reactors, dispersion nuclear fuel for high temperature gas-cooled reactors and nitride fuels; ROSATOM-CICE&T St.-Petersburg branch where the demonstration of the reactor KLT-40C modes of operation using full-scale simulator will be held; and “Baltiysky Zavod” production site of the first floating nuclear power plant “Akademik Lomonosov”.
The high international level of course is due to the fact that it is attended by the IAEA representatives Mr. Richard Kamendje and Mr. Hadid Subki (the head of SMR project) in accordance with practical arrangements on cooperation in organizing courses for newcomer countries between the IAEA, OJSC “Rosenergoatom Concern” and ROSATOM-CICE&T.
