On February 28 the delegation from Nuclear Industry Association in Turkey (NIATR) visited Rosatom Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training (ROSATOM-CICE&T) to trace the prospects for potential cooperation.
NIATR is an umbrella institution for Turkish companies to include NPP projects which are planned to be made in the World, especially in the Middle East and Africa. NIATR cooperates with domestic and international companies, governments, chambers of trade and industry, special industrial zones, domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations and universities.
The Turkish colleagues presented their strategic vision and concepts to meet the main goal of technology transfer and localization to enhance the economy of the domestic nuclear power industry. The challenges that the NIATR faced with have identified the necessity to invite the expertise and experience from ROSATOM-CICE&T to help to support both the national nuclear programme and expand overseas.
As a first step towards the establishing cooperation the parties agreed to organize a series of activities in the field of E&T between Russian and Turkish organizations including universities for medium and near term implementation.
A special interest has been expressed to Russian SMR Technology developments and to the opportunity for meeting Russian managers and specialists engaged in technology development to determine the possibility for projects commercialization.
