Within the framework of the International Forum “AtomExpo 2019”, which will be held in Sochi from 15 to 19 April, it is planned to hold the Russia-IAEA Nuclear Energy Management School for Managers in Nuclear Organizations.
The School is focused on helping middle and senior managers in the nuclear industry to develop managerial and technical competencies that are essential for the development or expansion of national nuclear power programmes.
The event will be attended by representatives of more than 30 IAEA Member States. High-level representatives of the IAEA and the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” will participate in the School opening ceremony.
Traditionally this School is held in parallel with the International Forum ATOMEXPO – the largest exhibition and business platform in the global nuclear power industry, organized on the initiative of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”. This format allows the students to take part in round tables and other forum events.
School for managers will be held for the second time. In 2018, the Director General of the IAEA, Mr Yukiya Amano, and the Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”, Mr Alexey Likhachev took part in the opening ceremony. The school addressed issues of nuclear infrastructure development, safety culture management, advances in reactor technology and nuclear knowledge management. The second part of the School was held at the premises of St. Petersburg branch of the Rosatom Technical Academy, where participants have got acquainted with the full-scale VVER-1200 simulator and visited the site of the Leningrad NPP.
