On April 11, 2017 the second session of the topical workshop on “Russian Nuclear Power Technologies, Advantages, Safety and Global Expansion” was held at the Moscow Representative Office of ROSATOM-CICET&T. The event took place according to the cooperation plan of State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” and the Chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The first session held in the city of Obninsk on February 20-21, 2017 was focused on the introduction into nuclear agenda so that the parliamentarians elected on the territories of the presence or interests of State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” could freely and knowledgeably interact with active population and the public in the region. The parliamentarians are supposed to apply the acquired knowledge in law making when regulating the peaceful use of atomic energy.
In the second session special emphasis was laid on the positioning of the Russian Federation in the field of innovative nuclear power systems based on closing fuel cycle by making use of fast reactors. Considering the fact that in June 2017 an International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles: Next Generation Nuclear Systems for Sustainable Development will be held in Yekaterinburg, this session is also suggested to prepare interested representatives of the deputy corps to participate in the conference and get acquainted with the achievements of the Russian Federation in this field.
